[ He pauses, before he sighs. ] I mean, my friends were all rich boys who made Henrietta their playground, they just had morals and unlearned some of their privileges.
I mean, you can't help growing up rich as much as I can help growing up poor.
Mm. Well. We did, technically, help it. Does the tech company Apple exist back in your world? My family got rich off Apple stocks thanks to Agnes' prophecies. Precognition does come a fair bit in handy sometimes.
Okay, wait a minute. Precognition is cheating when it comes to Apple stocks. [ He teases with a laugh. ] Fair enough but... I'm not as angry about it as I used to be.
It absolutely is. It's like pulling back the curtain and seeing how the gears all work. In our defense(?), I suppose, she just wanted to make sure we were well-provided for and well-equipped to deal with the apocalypse.
And that's good. I guess it all matters less here, too.
